"and i was young again"

  1. Michel, I loved looking at the work on your blog! It's always interesting to find another mixed media artist with whom I feel I have a lot in common. You are, obviously, very much into words and language, in general, as this is shown quite clearly in many of the visual elements as well as the titles of your work (really love many of the titles, by the way! I tend to think that narrative tiles such as these help to give others a bit more access into a piece of art, than they otherwise might have.). Delighted to make your acquaintance, and much appreciation for your comments on my work on absolutearts. Most of my work tends to be rather small, as well, though every once-in-awhile I attempt something a bit larger. Anyway, great to know you're out there making art. I've become a follower on your blog, and have "bookmarked" you on my computer, so I'll be checking back, from time to time to see what you're up to!

  2. Thanks for your very kind words! For me, the text is almost as important as the visual content of the small cards, intrinsically linked to the image (sometimes a direct response to the text contained within the drawing).
I've tried to work in a larger format but found the results unsatisfying, so I continue working in the way you see here, a 4x6 inch format.
I really liked your work, responding perhaps to the similarities in what we both do. Thanks for becoming a follower. I too will be keeping up with you on absolutearts.
